The Night Before Grinchmas

Jingle Bell is back!  It seems like a Star Wars sort of morning here, with not one but two advent calendars with the Star Wars theme, all beneath the Star Wars tree just outside Maddie's room.  Quoting Obi Wan Kenobi, Jingle Bell is saying, "Hello there."  One calendar is the traditional LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar - you can see Maddie's put together the first entry - it's Omega from "The Bad Batch" series, and she even comes with a tiny sled.  The other advent calendar had a mini Funko Pop character, R2-D2, who happens to be wearing reindeer antlers.

So today was an off day for practice, but we were frantically getting things done with costuming - late into the night in fact.  It's 1am right now.  Mom is still up, gathering, sewing, creating and organizing.  We did spend a little time watching "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" this evening, and of course we read from "Wintersmith" as well.  But today has been all about getting things ready for the production.  Maddie had taekwondo, and while she was there, Mom and I were at the church.  And while we were there of course we were busy with all the work we had to do there.

'Twas the Night before Grinchmas, and all through the house... we'll hopefully get enough sleep now.  Maddie got to bed at a reasonable hour, but she'll be with us a good bit tomorrow, this after taekwondo practice.  Tomorrow night is a dress rehearsal that parents and family are invited to.  It's basically our first real run-through of things, and it's dawning on me that this is going to be a production pretty much written by me, in front of a somewhat bigger audience.  Like back when we did Holly a few years ago.  Wow.

Anyway, it's late.  It's time for bed, right?  We're going to catch some sleep now, as we need to get up earlier tomorrow for practice.  Goodnight!
