Carolers!

Well the "dad jokes" keep coming beneath the tree, although there are fewer of them left until Christmas.  Maddie was at her advent calendars again, and yes, there are only a few more doors left to open on those.  And a few less candy canes on the wall too - she's got her candy cane chain made, but needed a little help getting to those higher candy canes.

It was a quiet day of Christmas prep, with wrapping and a lot of shopping on my part.  There was some considerable difficulty there with certain places.  Suffice to say, I'm not going back to the Mall of Georgia to look for anything anytime soon.  I think it's okay to go there to look around and just hang out.  But going there to actually find what you're looking for?  That's a stretch.  And a massive waste of time - the traffic surrounding that place is nigh impenetrable!

Fortunately, tonight we had something to cheer us up!

Do you hear that?  Carolers!

Yeah, I was pretty much like Phil Hartman here.  Anyway, about twenty or so Christmas carolers were assembled in our neighborhood, and they got on a trailer and just went from house to house, because the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!  They came up to our driveway, and the three of us were not quite like the Kranks.  Not at all!

Nope!  No hiding for us.  We're not skipping Christmas this year - we were pretty happy to get out there in the chilly weather and listen for a while.  And we weren't like Ralphie's mom, Mrs. Parker:

Leaping behind the couch to hide, she seemed to have a problem with carolers too!  Not us!  No, tonight we went right on out there to listen to "Joy to the World" and "Jingle Bells," and a few other songs that were sung at our neighbor's houses too.  It was super nice!  Everyone said "Merry Christmas," and we gave them all candy canes when they were done (we had a box!).  Yes, they drove on over to the next house and just kept singing, going through the neighborhood spreading Christmas cheer!  How great was that?  I was having a crummy day with the shopping and that really made spirits bright!

We watched an episode of "What If...?"  Season two, which started today, and it was a pretty awesome episode.  After that, Maddie and I were playing Mario Kart 64, and we even played a card game with Mom, that new Chip N Dale's Christmas Treasures Card Game.  We did about two rounds of that, and that was fun!  Mom liked it so much she thought it might be fun to bring along for our vacation soon.  So be it!

The night was closed out with some reading, and prayers too.  We're a bit exhausted still.  There is still some wrapping to be done, and some further shopping, but we're almost there.  Anyway, it's time for bed now.  Got another fun trip planned tomorrow, something nice and seasonal.  Goodnight!
