'Tis the Season for a Wedding

This morning's visit from Jingle Bell featured some gingerbread - okay, a lot of gingerbread.  There are four gingerbread houses there, so we've got to build at least one of them by Christmas!  This is a traditional visit, one where our elf friend brings the gingerbread houses and makes a big mess!

The scheduled "big event" of today was the wedding of Tytus and Madison Ulrich, which we were invited to at the Chapel on McEver.  It was a nice service and a fun time afterwards.  One thing I like to do is take pictures at weddings and hold on to them for a year until that first anniversary.  By that time, they've pretty much seen all their pictures, so as an anniversary gift, they get to revisit their wedding.  I just took some at the reception afterwards, as did Maddie with her cellphone.  Below are some pictures from the collection, as well as a fun video I took of the wedding party at the wedding party.

It was a good day today.  Maddie took a Forensics test that she did well on, and we all watched "Elf" tonight before bedtime.  We continued reading "I Shall Wear Midnight," which featured a scene involving rolling cheese down a hill.  That of course is inspired by the Cheese Roll in Gloucestershire, which we stopped everything at bedtime tonight to watch on the computer.  The three of us marveled at the fact that people would do this, and of course wondered why.  But of course, why not?  The book is starting out well, with Horace the Cheese already making an appearance.

We said our prayers and were off to bed tonight.  It was a good day though - we were working towards a lot of different goals with Christmas Spectacular, and even KidPak.  Mom and I continued our Hillsdale online course about "A Christmas Carol," visiting with the Ghost of Christmas Past.  We listened to our daily Scrooge radio theater advent, and Maddie opened up her advent Star Wars gifts.  I continued the holiday-themed walk with iFit, and we're just moving right along here through December!
