Christmas Spectacular 2023

Jingle Bell brought along another gift this morning, the gift of the Peppermint Pig, that northern tradition where on Christmas Day you use a tiny hammer to break a mold of a pig in peppermint, and everyone makes a wish for the upcoming year as they individually eat the tasty shards of peppermint.  Other pigs are there too, including the two ornaments we have, and Pua, the pig from the movie "Moana."

This is a funny picture from Maddie's early childhood development class.  She and a few other students are peeking out the thin window of a decorated classroom - it looks like she had a fun day.

In fact, here's Buc-ee, who came along today - and has been with her all the time since being discovered underneath the Christmas tree.

And the rest of the day was all about our Spectacular, which began tonight at our main campus.  It was so crowded that people were turned away from the parking lot, with overflow overflowing.  We were there in the basement getting ready - I was King Herod.  Maddie was in there earlier, as she's got connections, and she saved a whole row for her friends at Edge Martial Arts.  Master Edge and Mrs. Edge came, along with Chris, Chloe, Jonathan, and Mia with her family too.  Everyone enjoyed it, and the production went well!

I wrote the dialogue for this one too - the narrator portions, as well as the words from Joseph too.  Josh absolutely nailed those bits of dialogue, a convincing humble carpenter chosen to do something extraordinary.  Everyone enjoyed the performance, and there are still six left to go - we're obviously pretty zonked though!  We got home, and we slept well - after reading some, and prayers of course.  Here are some pictures from Maddie this afternoon, as she joined us before church.  She took a few from the audience of her friends, and a few in there of the production itself.

It was a good night, and a good performance.  Got to get some sleep now, as we have six more to go!
