Spec-Taco-Lar Day!

It's Taco Tuesday again, and our elf friend Jingle Bells had a bad pun to start out the day - but he and Snowflake also had a gummy taco as a gift, and that's not too shabby at all!  Note the attire Jingle Bells is wearing... it's stylish!  Maybe some day soon we'll all be wearing tortillas!

Okay, so today was Maddie's last day of school for 2023, and she had a few tests to close things out with, neither of which she was particularly looking forward to.  But take them she did, and she did okay on them, in fact better than she thought.  She got home early, and we were doing a bit of Christmas wrapping and putting up the wreaths and listening to Christmas music... also eating some tacos.  When it got dark, we made the trip over to Ashebrook Subdivision, this remarkable neighborhood that puts out a stunning amount of Christmas lights.  Maddie had been asking to go, and this is just honestly your best option for the drive-by lights experience.  It's about a half-hour away or so, and you spend about an hour in this neighborhood, driving around with many other cars slowly, slowly, slowly turning this way and that and just following the parade all the way through - it takes a while.  But it's fantastic.  We had all kinds of great Christmas music cued up, although at one point there was a radio station being broadcast from a house that we could tune in to - it was playing "Cat Shirts for Christmas."  Maddie brought Buc-ee along, and then opened the sun roof to stick her head out along the journey, where she took these pictures below and more...

On the way home, we stoped by the Dollar General for some emergency Scotch tape... lots of wrapping to do.  Maddie brought Buc-ee in, who got caught on security camera footage...

It was a good day - we watched Claymation Christmas when we got back, and then a new movie, "Candy Cane Lane," which wasn't bad.  And then it was time for rest - we read a bit, said our prayers, and it's time for some sleep.

But as I go, here are some pictures Maddie took recently from school - door decorations, ceramics, hot chocolate, therapy dogs, and more.  It's been a fun month at East Forsyth.
