Angry Woman Yelling at Elf

Jingle Bell got caught up in a meme today, playing the fun part of this hugely popular meme from last year, one that I have no idea why it exists.  There's an angry woman and she's pointing and yelling, and there's a picture of a cat peering up over the table with a sort of odd expression.  Jingle Bell replaced the cat, and there were a few other parodies of the same picture below that, and it made for some giggles this morning!

Here we are at taekwondo later on tonight.  We got this gold, frankincense and myrrh as a prop for small groups coming up Wednesday night.  We've had this in our Christmas collection for many years, so it'll be nice to have them used in an illustration soon.

It was a fairly rough day.  Nana was having difficulties, and so was I.  We had a plan to go down to a British shop in Norcross, but that would have to wait.  Even Mom was having some trouble.  So instead of that longer journey, we went over to the Goodwill in Oakwood.  And we did find a few items, including some great Christas CDs that I added to our collection.

We got home, and watched a few things this afternoon, including Annie Oakley's Christmas, an episode where a Mr. Klaus gets accused of a crime he didn't commit.  Leave it to Annie Oakley's sharp-shooting to save the day.

The next episode was an old copy of Long John Silver's Christmas special, one with Robert Newton helping out orphans.  It was all good and fun.  But Nana was having a lot of problems today, and it was taxing.  We were trying to keep things on the television, keeping things on to do.  But it was a losing battle.

Madison was at school today, and she was having a busy day.  We asked her how her day was, and of course we were in the midst of a rough one.  She said it was fine.  Which we already knew of course.  Digging for more details, we discovered what she did in social studies:  she took notes.  We probably won't know what those notes were about though.  I think she's studying the Civil War and Georgia, but we're not quite sure beyond that.  Also, there are tests coming up.  So that's where we're at with school.  It's often a little battle to get info out of her about her day, but we tried.  Today was one of those days that was rough all over, so we sort of gave up earlier!

ANYWAY, she was studying tonight.  We were watching "Santa Clause - the Movie" together.  This is such an early 1980's big budget movie.  It's fun, though obviously not up there with the other classics.  I love the villain in this, so over-the-top.

B.Z. is such a great villain, so remarkably one dimensional and comedically villainous.  The end of the movie has him floating in space, still all upset about the state of things.  One is left to wonder how long exactly he'll be in orbit, and how long until he starts to come down again.  It almost looks as if he's flying off into deep space, which is a little dark for a Christmas movie.  So we'll just assume he floats back down, and sets up "Christmas 2" on March 25th, all from his new office in Brazil, where extradition can't get to him, but he can raise up a toy factory empire, mass producing unsafe toys and giving Santa a hard time.

I think I'll start writing this script right away.

Tonight we said our prayers and we read from Narnia about Jill Pole's long journey down, down, down through the sky from way above.  Always a nice way to end a day - reading before bedtime.  We slept tonight not long after that, tired and ready to call an end to the day.
