Ashebrooke

Jingle Bell must have gotten on the Dark Lord of the Sith's nerves pretty good!  I'm sure he'll be fine.  He'll be fine!

Madison had a good day today with her social studies test, one that she felt she did pretty good with.  Work was fun, and I seem to be getting better with the blood pressure.  Mom got a blood pressure checker for me, and things seem to be getting better.  The heart rate is still up though.  And I'm not sleeping much lately - light sleeper.  It's been challenging.

Tonight, we made spirits bright by taking the trip back to Ashebrooke Subdivision, not far from here, and filled with hundreds of thousands of lights!

It still takes about an hour to drive through this neighborhood as there are so many houses decorated with so many lights.  We followed the parade of cars through the neighborhood, a slow procession of admirers looking to and fro, listening to Christmas music in our car.

There's Grogu there to the right!  Madison spotted that - she was standing up like many other kids, sticking up and out of the sun roof above for pretty much the entire journey.  The idea hit her early, and sure enough, we passed by so many cars with kids doing the same thing. We were all driving around so slow it was safe for that sort of thing.

I was driving, so these pictures were actually taken by Madison with her phone as she was up there.  She was looking around at house after house.  Nana and Uncle George were pretty impressed.  This is really the most colorful and brilliant neighborhood around.  This is easily right there with some of those other light displays that you pay a lot to go see.

Nana remarked quite frequently how nice of a drive it was, and how much she enjoyed it.  We all did, and the weather was really perfect for this.  Later on, there will be a lot more traffic through here, but tonight it was heavy, but not so slow as to take forever just to get through.  It was just right!

Ah, this house is one of our favorites - three Imperial walkers in the front yard!  Top that!   Really, there were so many houses, and only a few weren't decorated, and I suspect those didn't have anyone in them.  It was house after house after house, and it was all amazing.

We drove home after this, and it was nice to get home in time to see the next episode of "The Mandalorian."  And there was a seismic charge shot out from the Slave I, and all is well with the world again.  I'm such a geek for that last sentence, but many of us Star Wars fans have been waiting for that to happen again.  It was a great episode, one we'll no doubt be watching again soon!

We went to bed not long after that, and we were ready for bed.  We went to Narnia, and said our prayers, and were quite thankful for the pleasant evening together.
