Madison loves the game Bean Boozled, and laughs about it all the time. So apparently Jingle Bell took it upon himself to make a Christmas version of the game, with flavors as follows:
Peppermint candy, or Santa's Socks?
Yellow Gumdrop Swirl, or Yellow Snow?
Licorice Snaps, or Frozen Flag Pole?
Nutcracker Nougat, or Rat King Droppings?
Ginger Cookies, or Yukon Cornelius' Dirty Dishes?
Egg Nog Milkshake, or Elf Barf?
Figgy Pudding, or Scrooge's Toenail Clippings?
Chocolate Fudge, or Reindeer Poop?
No word on who won this game. Actually, with Bean Boozled, there are never any winners! Daddy tried the game one time, and you get that one nasty jelly bean, and that's it. It's too gross to go on!
We had KidPak tonight, the last Wednesday night service of the year, in fact. As such, we decided to do a bit of a birthday party.
This is a terrible picture, but you can see Daddy and Pastor Lance holding up a birthday cake for Jesus. The night featured plenty of Christmas songs, crafts and stockings, and cupcakes for everyone. It went really well, although Daddy got home pretty late.
Madison's "Christmas Around the World" continued today, with tomorrow being a big event for the fifth graders. They're going through the immigration process of about 100 years ago, so we'll see if Madison's "Astrid" will make it through the process and into the United States. Daddy will be there tomorrow to take pictures, so hopefully they'll come out okay.
Meanwhile, today was a good day. We did a lot of work today towards our new series, "Elevate," working on messages, as well as the upcoming fasting-themed devotional. That's going to be the tough one to finish, as the deadline is looming. Daddy has been working on three different books now, all to be printed roughly the same time. Lots going on there, and then of course there's Christmas. We're just terribly busy this time of year.
But it's still nice to watch Christmas movies, or listen to the music. Mommy was working hard on adding finishing touches to decorations today, getting the house ready for visitors on Christmas Day. That will be new. But as Nana and Ye-Ye's house is still under repair, it is our house that has become the alternative destination. That's fine - we'll have a good day. And it's very soon, isn't it?
Madison was helping Mommy make those spiced oranges, just a small part of the decorating. It may be a small part, but that smell is just wonderful. Daddy may have to go out and get some wood as well, as we might be needing a fire in the fireplace. And the leaves in the front yard - that needs work. But the rain keeps falling, and it's supposed to be like that all the way up until Christmas Eve. We definitely need the rain, but at this point, some forecasters are suggesting it could be more than rain: it could be ice. We'll see, as it's only a few days away!
