Madison returned to speech therapy this afternoon, and it went well as always. Madison has shown so much progress, and as the new year begins, her speech exercises are getting more advanced to the point that even Daddy could have trouble saying certain sentences. We haven't tried, "The rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain" yet, but it's on the way! Seriously, her teacher is quite pleased with her progress, as are we. This, combined with the better year of speech therapy in school as well, is making for a great year for her. Daddy and Mommy wait in the room, playing Scrabble or reading books, and then we're off onto that miserable highway 400 for the bumper to bumper traffic home. But we're in a good mood, because we know the speech therapy is doing her well.
Today, Daddy was down 400 earlier, taking the car to the dealer for a systems check. Just a standard visit, really. We also did some chores while out, but the day was largely just a bit of cleaning up. The weather is getting cold, isn't it? Even in the office at work, you have to dress for winter, with double layers and space heaters scattered about.
We read from Jack Sparrow's adventure tonight, about his battle with Captain Torrents, and with Stone-Eyed Sam and Davy Jones as well. Lots going on in this book, in fact. Savvy? Madison can't wait to get into bed to hear the latest part of the adventure, and Mommy is usually not far behind, anxious to hear the what happens next on the high seas.
In other news, doctors say that Uncle Dave does not have long. He is going to hospice soon, and things are not looking well. Despite our hopes and prayers, this seems to be going in a darker direction. We hate cancer.
