Six in the morning came too early today! But there it was, and there we were rising and shining for a new day. It was the first day of school in 2016 for Madison, and everything was back to normal with the scheduling. That is, "normal" for your average school day. We even had piano class after school, complete with the taxi service from school to class, and then back. With piano class, the talk of Mrs. Pam's yearly "Winter Wonderland" celebration is something that got all the kids excited. Where are we going this year? Next week, the room with the keyboards will be filled with snowflakes and fun, so it's going to be a fun time after Christmas, leading up to the big day.
Today was Taco Tuesday, but Mommy and Daddy have been fasting meat. So... we didn't have any meat. And Madison still wanted a taco. So there it was, a meatless taco. As Mommy suspected, Madison didn't mind - the reason is because she loves that salsa.
So here we go again with homework. And on top of that, for the next few weeks, Madison is doing her Fasting Devotional. Each day, she's filling out the daily Bible study work, and faithfully sticking to it, looking up scriptures and answering questions. Daddy is so proud of her for doing this, not just giving up sweets, but spending more time studying the Bible as well. When done, this booklet of hers will be a wonderful thing to look back upon. No doubt about it, we'll keep this one as long as we can!
Tonight, we had just enough time to watch the final two episodes of "Star Wars Rebels," and see the grand finale. It was actually pretty good, and had all of us ready to start our Star Wars series at KidPak. Mommy came up with a title that I think will be pretty good: "The Spirit Awakens." It'll start coming together in an amazing way, soon enough.
This cold weather is finally settling in, and while it isn't entirely pleasant, it isn't raining. So that's good news. But brrr!
We kept our reading up tonight of the Jack Sparrow series, and again it ends with a cliffhanger. If Madison were reading this one, it would be a real page turner, hard to put down! But bedtime is there, and we want to make sure she gets enough sleep. So sleep well, Madison, and dream of pirates and adventure, and golden treasures and magical time pieces. We'll see you in the morning, when we start our new adventure, a new day with a glorious sunrise.
