Doughnuts! Once again, we pirates celebrated one of the most sacred holidays of the year, a day we all Talk Like a Pirate. Madison is quite proficient at talking like a pirate, certainly after working on her "arrrrs" at speech therapy.
After a bit of work today, we raced down to Krispy Kreme, our fourth annual trip I think. Madison was ready to take on the place once more, ready to grab some free doughnuts. Although I think she prefers the ones that have sprinkles. Mommy sadly can't eat these doughnuts, as they are 100% gluten. They're 100% delicious too, and once again Krispy Kreme wins the day by giving away a box of a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts just for showing up at their store dressed as a pirate. Seriously, we dress up like a pirate all the time anyway, so this is no big deal!
Of course, we're reading the latest Jack Sparrow book, "The Timekeeper," which adds more flavor to "Talk Like a Pirate Day." We even had the soundtrack playing in the car for a bit, which was fun and added to the adventure of the day.
Mommy came in to help at work today - we were wrapping up a huge women's conference upstairs with thousands of women here to listen to various speakers and get involved in all sorts of post-service activities. Meanwhile, we were downstairs, preparing for tomorrow's service. Daddy wrote a new script for our time travel series, and it has a "Bill and Ted" feel to it, although the two main characters are actually girls. This seems to be the trend lately in movies anyway - taking classic guy roles from the past and giving them to girls. So yeah, that's what I'm doing. Really, it was just an idea we had, and I think it'll be fun.
It was a busy day, actually. But doughnuts always add a bit of fun. There's no way we can eat them all - Daddy had two, and that's it. So we share them with the cleaning crew at the church, who were pretty excited to grab a few doughnuts. A few of them even starting saying, "Arrrrr!"
