The day before a new series at KidPak has been and will continue to be a day where we spend a LOT of time at the church, working hard to make it the best series kick-off we possibly can. Mommy even came today, working hard on her display case, something she's been doing for over ten years now. It has a time travel theme, with a DeLorean inside it, Back to the Future action figures, a Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and even a Tardis.
We completed all the printed materials, and Daddy went to go get dinner for all of us from Chick-Fil-A: grilled chicken nuggets, of course.
This is fall, so a lot of the guys were watching the UGA football game. This is a Saturday tradition for the folks setting up for KidPak, a balance of work and screaming at the television. Fortunately, Daddy and Mommy don't have as much interest in the games, so our emotions don't run so high. Not to say we don't care - it's just that we aren't anywhere near as passionate.
Madison was her usual helpful self. She likes to put out booklets and pencils in chairs, and help clean up the stage. But she also likes to make origami and countless paper airplanes. This has been her latest habit, creating a paper airforce, converting Daddy's desk into an aircraft carrier, and launching them off throughout the day for test flights.
The weather is now officially a lot cooler. It is so chilly outside that short-sleeved shirts might not be good enough at nighttime. But during the day, it is absolutely perfect. It is your perfect fall day outside, in fact.
We read some more tonight, also careful to read from the Bible as well. And Daddy stayed up later, studying his message for tomorrow - it should be a great kick-off to the new series.
Mommy went straight to bed after getting home - it was a longer day for her. She probably overdid it some, as this was her first day outside of the house. She just wanted to get this done, and nothing much would stop her. She was careful not to do too much, resting when necessary. But it was her first time getting out of the house since the surgery, and she was ready for bed when she got home. It is a team effort getting all of this together, and she was really wanting to once again play her part. And that is something she did for sure. But so did Madison, as she always does. And tomorrow, she still has one more part to play, as she's a part of the message - a sermon about adoption.
