C'est Magnifique!

Madison is now a painter.  She did this work above with a paintbrush today, as Mommy introduced her to the concept of painting.  She did really well, I think!  Actually, there's been a lot of response to this piece on social media - we might make this artwork into cards to send out some time soon.

She didn't use the easel above to paint on - we're just using that for display purposes.  Basically, Madison drew out her concept, which is all her own idea by the way.  These birds aren't copied from anything, and are from her imaginative mind.  So with a pencil, she sketched out the idea, and with the paintbrush, she stayed within the lines and created her very own masterpiece.  I actually really like this painting quite a bit!

Daddy was at work today for quite some time, working on tomorrow's service with the movie clips and so forth.  We're wrapping up "The Quest," while looking to next weekend's "Time Travelers" series.  A lot going on this week, including the fact that it is Labor Day weekend.  Did you know that?  Of course you did.

Nana and Ba-Ba slipped out as promised, roughly at 6:00 am, to avoid the traffic of Atlanta.  This was going to be an epic day for traffic, but they missed it entirely, having left very early.  They got home safe and sound, event-free.  Just as we would all want it!

Mommy is slowly improving, emphasis on the word slowly.  But at least she is getting better.  She just needs rest, and not to overdo it.  And not worry about feeling so tired - that's the medicine talking right now, which she needs.  She did just have major surgery less than a week ago...

It was a good day today.  Of course, all the college teams started their season this week, playing against these smaller colleges that are just happy to be playing in a big game.  And of course, all the smaller college teams lost by ridiculous scores.  This is how we start out our college season, so that all the big universities feel good about themselves, I suppose.  Pity these poor punching bag colleges, the ones that show up for a thrashing, and maybe feel good about themselves for getting a total of seven points or something like that.

We aren't addicted to college football.  We are, however, watching Ultimate Spider-Man a lot, and reading these Jack Sparrow books too.  Can't miss those lately!  And yes, we can't miss church tomorrow either.  It should be a great end to "The Quest!"
