Jingle Bells brought along some pajamas for Maddie, and that's a Christmas tradition. They're holiday pjs, and it looks like there's yet another "dad joke" there. The elf has a fishing pole, and if you look closely, yes, he is literally catching a Z there.
We went to the movies this afternoon, and you can see Joey the Porg came along for the show. We saw "Wonka," and of course are all craving chocolate now, particularly the kind that can make you fly. It was a decent movie, but even better, it was just a nice relaxing time for the four of us (Maddie, Mom, Joey and myself). We had our spots in the back row there, and after watching the now seemingly mandatory 30 minutes of commercials with a few trailers thrown in, the movie started and we all enjoyed it. I think the three of us still like the Tim Burton Wonka movie better, but this one was decent. The Oompa Loompa clearly stole the show though!
Let's see... today was a day to relax a bit. We were wrapping, but also filling out and sending out Christmas cards. We spent some time with Mario Golf and Maddie got re-introduced to Harvest Moon 64. We've got the back deck filled with feeders which are filled with feed, which means the back deck is filled with birds this past month or so. The weather gets colder and the birds know where to go. The squirrels do too - we seem to have a new family of them, and they're starting to get pesky. They went from cute to annoying in about the space of a week. Soon they'll go from annoying to aggravating. And eventually, they'll go from aggravating to gone. We've taken away some of the feeders to prevent their gorging on every single thing we put out, that way some birds actually get the bird food. We'll see how that turns out.
Meanwhile, indoors, we still have four sea monkeys thriving in their golden years, or at least golden days? Anyway, these hatched back in April and they're doing just fine right now, thank you very much. I give them oxygen every single day, and food once a week, and that seems to do it for them!
It was a quiet day. Christmas is coming soon - very soon! We'll do our best to get ready for it, and enjoy this season as best we can now that the productions have come and gone. The trees look lovely in this house, and the wreaths are out there on the windows. We're almost done with our shopping and cooking too.
Tonight we read from "I Shall Wear Midnight" about a really creepy looking villain, one with no soul. Yikes! Tiffany Aching had best figure out how to deal with this one. We said our prayers tonight, and it was soon after that time for a long winter's nap. It was a good day! Only a few more sleeps 'til Christmas!
