Tonight's Origami Yoda project was a success! It was actually a really good night, as some of our college students were tag-teaming with Daddy to go over our message, "The Force of God," based on the first judge in the book of Judges, a guy named Othniel. Keeping with the Star Wars theme, we showed a clip of Yoda battling Count Dooku, and how "the little guy" can always come out on top with God behind him.
Hurricane Florence is sort of slowing down for the landing here, and shifting, shifting, shifting southward in a way. At one point, folks in Virginia were very much worried, but not so much as the ones in South Carolina now.
Daddy didn't get to see the family too much today - just a touch-and-go at home before heading to church. Daddy and Madison read the Uncanny X-Men comic, one with Charles Xavier actually walking, and doing a bit of roller blading too. It features a sweet moment with Jubilee, who of course is Madison in a few ways (even though she doesn't realize it). It was nice to sit on the couch and read together before going back for the busy day. Nana and Ba-Ba are here, of course, and the family got to spend the evening together, although Madison went to bed a little earlier due to the fact that she has a math test tomorrow.
Mommy and Nana were putting old teacups out on display, and Ba-Ba changed a shower head for Madison, so soon she'll be taking more showers instead of baths. She'll still take baths - we all do. Baths are very much "in!"
Tonight, because of that skit last week on the stage in the main sanctuary, Daddy got a jar of jalapeño jelly from a neighbor. It was homemade jelly, and you'd have to read the script to get why she even thought to bring it to me a week later. But nevertheless, it's a fun and random gift, one we'll be testing out soon enough. Madison likes hot things, and this was a sweet gift, so we'll try it out together some time soon. Hopefully it isn't too hot, but we'll see!
We prayed tonight, for people in the path of the hurricane and for things to weaken. It seems to be doing that very thing, once projected as hitting as a category 4, with some commentaries saying it could even strike as a category 5. But it is weakening, and that is encouraging.
