Funky Town

This is Funky Town.  So when you hear folks singing about it, you now know exactly what they are speaking of.  This is one of the many bits of folk art Daddy and Mommy came to see today, all done by our favorite artist, the one and only Madison.  The city above is a sprawling metropolis along the Florida coastline.  You can see the many stars above, the palm trees, and to the right, the Space Shuttle Atlantis.  To the left are houses, which look like nice places to live.  We love the feeling of this painting, and actually are thinking about framing it.

But Madison wasn't done showing us the work she did this week at art camp!

Here she is showing off a bit more, and also being photo-bombed as well!  Madison made a few friends this week, and was just glowing afterwards, so happy about her experience at art camp this week.  She really enjoyed it!

Here are a few more pieces that she created.  This week Madison was able to create some quality work that you can tell she spent some time on, rather than just get it done.  Her creative powers were working overtime, as she spent a few days working on some individual pieces, like the one up above with the picture of a mask on it.  She kept coming back to that to add to it.  And no wonder she couldn't describe it to us fully during the week.  Actually, we're glad she couldn't - we loved the surprise of seeing her handiwork.

Here is her teacher this week, the two of them standing in front of a painting that the entire class worked on together.  Oh, and speaking of which, here below is a similar idea - only with a car.

It's the "Finster-mobile" or something like that.  Anyway, this is visible from Green Street there, a car completely covered in paint from Madison and her friends in the class.  Her handprints are on the car, as are all the others.  The thing is a an explosion of folk art all over the side of a car, and it looks pretty fun to drive.  If it can drive.

Anyway, clearly Madison had a great time at art camp.  We were invited in for this last day so that we could enjoy a gallery experience, seeing all the children's artworks on display indoors.

Afterwards, it was back to work for a while.  We're getting ready for a new series, "The Quest," and there is still plenty to do.  Including filming!  But we're working steadily on it, moving forward, and should be ready for things when they start on Sunday.  A lot of work to go in between now and then, but there are a few of us ready to get it all done.  It's going to be a great series!
