Christmas season isn't real, unless you make a trip to the Pink Pig. And yes, that's where we went today. We were at the chiropractor's office today in Cumming, which Madison LOVED. Seriously, she laughs and giggles and has such a good time while she's there. If you filmed her there and posted it as a video on Youtube, it would get a zillion hits. I think I'll film the next time she's there, actually - it's really, really funny.
And so our next stop was the Pink Pig. It was fun for Madison. She took a nap on the way down - and Daddy told her, "When you wake up, we'll be at the Pink Pig." I woke her up in the parking lot, and she immediately grinned and looked around with excitement. "There it is!"
It's a simple ride. Here above is one view where you can see down the inside a bit. It's just a kiddie train that rides around inside a large tent a few times. It's good for younger kids like Madison. We had fun because we were there with her - and if you're in the area, you should drop by for the novelty of it! If you like pink - and you like pigs - you'll love the Pink Pig!
This photo cracks me up. It seems so surreal, and yet it isn't all that bad when you're there. You see, there's a drive thru screen at one point in the ride, with a gobo light that projects a pink pig's face that sort of floats around. The way this photo turned out, the pig isn't even really smiling. It's sort of a concerned look, or maybe a stunned one? Or perhaps it is a warning one. Whatever it may be, it doesn't look eerie at all when you're there in person. It's a fun, happy little ride with probably a little too much sugar. Yet when I saw this picture afterwards, it just sort of screams Tim Burton. The pinpoint pupils on those large eyeballs sort of remind you of his drawings or characters.
Afterwards, we went inside Lenox Mall to eat at California Pizza. What a nice time we had there - we even had a great dessert afterwards. Madison ate a big bowl of ice cream, which sealed the deal: for her, today was an awesome day. First the Pink Pig, and then ice cream? What else can you ask for?
We got home late - traffic was a mess. And it was pretty much time for bed when we arrived there. We watched another Christmas special with Madison as she drank her milk, and then it was nearly time for bed ourselves. We popped in "The Bells of St. Mary's," which was a great old flick - and found ourselves immediately going upstairs for bed. Daylight Savings still makes things seem a little off in your head. It's earlier than it seems - which means we get a bit more tired a bit more early. The plus is this: tomorrow, it'll seem later than it really is - so it's almost like sleeping in!
