Toy Story 3

Madison went to her first movie today, and did absolutely great! Daddy sort of had this fear that she'd grow restless, or make a lot of noise, or do something that you've seen countless other times from other toddlers in a movie theater - but she was an angel! Lately, we've been watching the first two "Toy Story" movies to get her familiar with the characters. Between that, and the visits to the Magic Kingdom and even the Disney Store, Madison knows all about Jesse, Woody and Buzz Lightyear. She had an educational game for her Clickstart computer where she can move one of these three characters about, so the bottom line is: we thought we were ready for the movies!

But just in case, we got a huge tub of popcorn and a drink to keep her busy.

Turns out she didn't need either. She was really focused on the movie, and the only point we were really worried would have been a tense moment at the end. But everything turns out okay, and she saw just what the movie tag line is: "no toy gets left behind."

We had the 1:15 showing, but the theater was still packed! There were other kids there too, and we found a seat in the third row where Madison sat in between Mommy and Daddy, with her big thing of popcorn on her lap!

It was a busy day elsewhere too - we had our last day of Music Camp, which was a lot of fun for Madison all week long. Daddy came along today as well, and together we learned about quarter notes, piano keys and rests. These were all taught on a very simple level with fun games and activities that Madison really loved. Mommy has asked about future classes, so you know this won't be the last posting about music classes.

After camp was over, we went to Pizza Hut for a quick bite for lunch. It's been ages since we've been to Pizza Hut. I think it was in Gatlinburg four or five years ago. The pizza was okay - there just isn't a really good pizza place in Gainesville. The other competitor sort of upsets our stomachs, so I won't mention their name here.

Finally, after that, it was time to go to the movie. What fun it was. And what a great movie, too! Pixar really knows how to make incredible movies - I've never seen a bad one. In fact, this was the perfect one to go to for Madison's first movie.
