Jack Kahuna Laguna

Madison woke up before any of us today, sneaking into the bedroom and giggling. Sometimes you miss that extra wall on the crib - it made for a nice holding cell! Seriously, it's nice to have her crawl into bed with us sometimes.

Sometimes. One particular time I woke up slowly in a haze, and not thinking clearly. I was half-asleep and thinking, "Goodness, Madison sure is sweaty! I mean the bed is soaked...!" That's about when reality snapped me fully awake!

Today Madison came with us to work where she promptly wore everyone out, taking turns climbing all over my co-workers and delighting everyone. She's such a cutie!

Mommy spent some time with her this morning on her computer, guiding her through some educational games that teach letters. One in particular is very good - it's called "Learning Carnival." Madison flies through this game, picking the correct letter each time it is called out. She maneuvers her character through a fun environment searching for letters that a voice calls out. Really, the Clickstart is a great system: it is fun, and Madison seems to be learning a lot with it as well. We've got her cartridges of games with the Disney Princesses, the Toy Story characters, and of course Kai-Lan. She enjoys them all!

Today we spent a lot of time at church, preparing for our new series upcoming - this Sunday to be exact. It has been a really long day. But we did make sure we spent a little time relaxing - at least an hour or so tonight all snuggled up in bed watching one last surfing movie, featuring famous surfer Jack Kahuna Laguna:

Yes that's Spongebob. It's also Johnny Depp voicing the bongo-playing surfer dude in the cartoon, which was one reason we were curious to watch it. Actually, we like Spongebob's first couple seasons - but haven't watched it lately. Madison knows who Spongebob is now - sometimes at work, that'll be the DVD she wants to watch. She goes through phases though, and can be so into princesses one moment, and then Kai-Lan the next.

One thing she's into lately is "The Lion King." She saw our new stage at the church and just loved it, calling out "Lion King!" when she saw it.

Well, speaking of the "Lion King," Daddy needs to stop writing here and start writing on this weekend's script a little more. Got a long ways to go on that one!
