Here's a screen capture of Madison's attempt at finding the perfect outfit for Mulan. I think Li Shang is coming over tonight, and she's wanting to look her best. Thanks to Madison, she'll find the perfect outfit. It'd better be something warm though!
It's an activity on the Disney Princess website, one that allows you to pick dresses, purses, necklaces and crowns for the various Disney princesses. Madison spent quite some time trying out the different variety of combinations. As our theme the last two days has been Mulan, I thought we'd give it a try today. Madison was very good with the computer mouse, her computer skills growing quite well. In fact, here's the outfit that Madison eventually chose for Mulan:
Not bad, and certainly "wintery." You get a sense that Madison knew very well the weather outside was terribly cold. It was. In fact, Madison hasn't been outside of the house now in two days: it's just been that kind of cold out there! Right now, it is 27 degrees - and windy. Brrrrr!
Not getting our hopes up too much, but this Thursday they are calling for snow again. Maybe this time it will happen, and maybe this time we'll get a chance to frolic! That's one of those words I think you can only use with snow.
Tonight we watched "Mulan 2," which unlike the first movie did not feature any snow. Madison was still engrossed. She was also very tired. She didn't take a nap today, and on top of that she didn't sleep all that well last night.
LAST NIGHT:
It was about 4:30 that we heard her crying out for Mamma last night, so we rushed in to see if everything was okay. It was - she was just having a nightmare. Still, she wanted to stay with us, so we brought her into our bed last night. This, as you can imagine, had predictable results. Over the course of the night, she kept twisting so that her head was on Mommy's pillow and her feet were in Daddy's face. Periodically throughout the night, Daddy would feel like this:
Such is the life of a parent. It turns out that Madison was a little sick today - it was nothing serious. In fact, each time she'd take a little cold medicine, she'd perk right up and be running around the house, wanting to tackle somebody in those high heeled shoes.
As the day wore on, it became apparent that she was feeling much better. But amazingly, she fell asleep during the credits of the movie with us. Isn't that cute? Mommy had to carefully lift her, and carry her into the nursery, gently placing her in the crib.
Night-night, Madison!
