You can see that Maddie was anxious to play a game of Exploding Kittens today - Nate? It doesn't look like that so much. He came over today, and it was a day to clean up a bit and check out all the new goodies from Christmas. Like this gnome brush. Yes, they make these.
I have got a lot of soap right now now. I'm still using the Cotton Headed Ninny Scrubbins bars of soap at the moment, but I might go to hero mode after that.
Aunt Shain made this for me, just a fun little gift, a Star Wars scene made of fluff. I'm not entirely sure what it is, in fact! But it's fun!
Today is Boxing Day, and I'm barreling through these "Rocky" movies while on the treadmill. Today's feature was "Rocky V," which is probably the bottom of everyone's list of favorites, but I'm doing these all in order. It's not too bad, actually. The first two and the third are my favorites at the moment. I'll finish up this one tomorrow, and move on to new territory with the four more recent movies that I've actually never seen.
Maddie and Nate were having fun with Mario Kart, Mario Party, and working on the Star Wars puzzle some as well. We had a nice lunch that Mom cooked for all of us, and Maddie was checking out some of the hot sauces she got for Christmas. Nate got her a bottle of hot sauce, and we did too. Nothing is as strong as that Buc-ee's hot sauce she got a few weeks ago, but she's enjoying the hot sauces nonetheless.
Nana and Ye-Ye came over for a bit today, giving Mom some nice jade plants as a gift for Christmas. I actually missed one gift bag yesterday, and it was from Mom. I got some nice new Goofy pajamas and a neat Captain America jacket. Nana and Ye-Ye had coffee and dessert with us today - we were using up some of that Bones coffee, which they liked very much. We sat and talked for a bit, watching some videos and perhaps planting a seed in their minds about that huge underground cave in Louisville where they have all those Christmas lights. It was nice just relaxing and talking with them for a bit.
Tonight we were back to watching "Skeleton Crew," because Nate's never seen that series before. Mom and I were doing a lot of packing things up, cleaning up bookshelves in the living room, packing up clothing, doing dishes - all that post-Christmas stuff. We stopped to do our online puzzles, and started working towards the KidPak January series somewhat by ordering a few more costumes, and lining up the story possibly for our characters in January. We'll see how things go there, but for the first time ever I'm using AI to help as a prompt for story ideas. I'm doing the writing, but this tool is sort of sparking off ideas that could work for stories and bottom lines. Pretty nifty!
Nate went home a little later, and when all was said and done, we read more from our latest "Monk" book, just a few chapters, before saying our prayers and getting some rest. Sleep came quickly tonight!
