Light the Menorah

What's this?  Another gift from Santa Buc-ee?  Yes, of course it is.  The parade of gifts from Buc-ee's continues.  Maddie quickly unwrapped this one and found...

A new set of Buc-ee's playing cards!  Maddie's morning was a little quieter, but Nate's school season ended yesterday so he was able to come over for a bit later on.  The two of them were hanging out, doing a puzzle, having a Mario Party, and just relaxing for the day.

Mom had matzo ball soup tonight, and it wasn't too bad!

She had things all set up for when I got home from the office, and soon after dinner, we lit the candle on the menorah.

I was spending the day finishing this January book for our new series.  I was making insects to add in certain areas, and they were coming out pretty good:

The booklet is pretty much done, so now on to costuming.  We have a simple set design figured out, but there's other things to do as well.  And of course, this weekend has to be worked out too - the last service before Christmas!

Tonight we watched one of my favorite versions of "A Christmas Carol," the one with Patrick Stewart as the lead.  I think it's the only one that I know of where it shows him going to church on Christmas Day.  There are a lot of other things too, of course.  The performances are moving, and the story stays faithful to the book very closely.

We read "Hogfather" before bed, and then there were prayers.  Time to get tucked in for a good night's rest.  Only a few more sleeps 'til Christmas!
