MacBeth and the Wyrd Sisters

Maddie has been studying Shakespeare's MacBeth at school, and we had no idea about this when we started to read, "Wyrd Sisters."  But this Discworld book we're reading is largely inspired by - and parodies - this classic play, and it's just a great bit of supporting material.  The folder above is something Maddie made for herself for the play.  You can see the three cauldrons, and of course the crown too.  And I guess that's blood?  Anyway, it looks great.  The book's been good too - we're nearly done with it, at which point we'll move on to another book, a Christmas book Mom has recently ordered.  But it's just fun to see this literary theme right now.  Maddie is recognizing the bits of parody, and she's talking about different plot points of "MacBeth" as we go from day to day.

So it's Tuesday, and that means no activities tonight, which is okay so we can get some rest.  We're good with that!  We've been watching our Christmas movies, watching things every night, sometimes two per night, but that will soon slow down as the season really gets going.  We've got plays and visits to festivals and puppet shows all on the horizon.  It's going to be a super fun season.

I'm nearly done with the material for our next KidPak series, "The Greatest Gift."  We've got a 25-day devotional in there, plus the messages too.  Always a lot of writing.  But one interesting thing is a class I spoke at today, part of the Bible college.  It was the writing class, only about four students, but I was with them for an hour and a half talking.  They're wanting to write some material for our next series, and I'm thinking that might be a fun idea.  It might be more work, we'll see.  But it could be they're all really good and it could be a trend that keeps going, and reduces my work load.  We'll see!  It's always an honor to speak to students though.  Love that.

We read about the Wyrd Sisters tonight, and after that we said our prayers.  It's been a decent day today, no bubble, bubble, boil and trouble.
