Myrrrrrrrrrrh!

We've got a fun contest coming up, just a thing we're doing in the office - a Christmas song contest using the AI song generator.  I've done a few, one of which was written during Mom's stay in the hospital.  I'm writing the lyrics, and it's fun to see what AI does with them.  This one above is sort of a throwaway song - one I wrote up based on the fact that everyone keeps wanting to say Frankenstein instead of frankincense.

[verse 1]
Three Wise Men traveled from afar
Upon a holy trip.
Caspar, Melchior, Balthazar
But one had made a slip

You see they each brought splendid gifts
And traveled in a line
They brought the gold.  They brought the myrrh.
But who brought Frankenstein?

[chorus]
Turn around and bring him back
Are you out of your mind?
The Wise Men aren't supposed to bring
Gold, Myrrh, and Frankenstein?

[verse 2]
Caspar had looked quite confused
Who is this tall green man
grunting and all dressed in black
and tromping through the sand

The gold made sense it shined so bright
The myrrh smelled so divine!
But something here just wasn’t right
Yes, who brought Frankenstein?

[chorus]
Turn around and bring him back
Because this isn’t fine
The Wise Men aren't supposed to bring
Gold, Myrrh, and Frankenstein?

[instrumental]

[verse 3]
Frankenstein lumbered along
Extending both his hands
He moaned and groaned his monster song
Tromping through the sands

Melchior looked down at his list
Of gifts that they should feature
Oh, someone misspelled frankincense
Now they’re stuck with this creature!

[chorus]
Turn around and bring him back
Are you out of your mind?
The Wise Men aren't supposed to bring
Gold, Myrrh, and Frankenstein?

Yes, it's not Frankenstein.  It's frankincense.  And along those lines, I've read something pretty cool about frankincense.  It's a wonderful fragrance.  You know how smells can bring back memories or strong associations?  You see, the Bible tells us Moses was told to bring that in to the tent where God's presence was.  In fact, that's wha the high priests did from this point on, placing the fragrance at the foot of the Ark of the Covenant.  How wonderful that these Wise Men brought this same fragrance to the feet of Jesus!

Anyway, pretty normal day.  We got a new Christmas remote so now we have three wands where you press the button on the wand and the lights on the tree light up.  So yeah, we're sitting down here in the living room and with a wave of the wand, we have light on the trees!  Super fun!

Maddie had a bit of homework tonight, but she was able to join us for a movie - we watched "Jingle All the Way," joining Howard Langston on his quest to find TurboMan.  It's a fun movie.  We actually love it.  So many great Christmas movies this time of year!

Maddie was working with her 35mm camera again, getting more shots.  I wrote a skit for Thanksgiving weekend upcoming, one I think will work.  Tonight we read from "The Best Pageant Ever," and we're already almost done!  It's been a really good book, and the movies stay very close to the original material. Great stuff!

We said our prayers tonight, and that was about it for the day.  It was a good day though.  Or as Frankenstein's monster would say:  "Myrrrrrrrrrrh!"
