This afternoon, Maddie and I decided to do a board game for the first time in a while. But this one was different - we got out a DVD board game, an old one called "Lilo and Stitch's Island of Adventures Game." Which is not to be confused with the "Islands of Adventures" theme park in Florida, of course. There's just one island in this game. And lots of adventures though!
But yes, it was fun. It was one of these games that was dependent upon a DVD and a remote control, one where we would have to play games on the television or amongst ourselves to find new experiments. The game actually lasted quite some time, but it was pretty fun. Maddie won pretty easily by the end, and that might be because she chose a dune buggy to travel with, while I was riding around the board on a tricycle!
It was cooler today, a definite change in the atmosphere, and a welcome change too. We were enjoying the weather outside for a bit this morning on the back deck. We have a few hummingbirds visiting now. It's been pretty sporadic this season thus far, but I think finally now we have a fairly regular visitor to the hummingbird feeder, and in fact perhaps two. It's been a small disappointment to the season that we haven't seen any more, but Mom sees online that other people in our area are not seeing as many either.
Tonight Maddie had taekwondo, and there was a good bit of sparring involved. She's not a fan of that usually, but she does well with it. I had taken Nana over to the grocery store while Maddie was kicking and training, and there we were picking up a few things on a list Mom had made for us. In the car there and around, we've been listening to Frank Sinatra a bit more, this due to our recent viewing of "Guys and Dolls." Maddie knows "Luck be a Lady" pretty well by this point.
Tonight we had some beef stroganoff, the kind that was gluten-free, and a real treat for Mom. We've just discovered this gluten-free product line and it's been nice to have new options for Mom. It was a nice meal, and it was a nice night together after taekwondo.
Our reading continued, and after that it was time for prayers, and time for sleep. We've got a little fun planned tomorrow, and maybe even this weekend.
