Quiet day today. Maddie got out of school and spent the day with Nate at his place, and meanwhile I was working at the office a bit. Mom and I had a quiet night tonight, watching "The Preacher's Wife" as I started putting ornaments on the big tree in the living room. It's been a slower process, as there are so many ornaments for that one, so much to squeeze on there. But it's a joy to see all these old friends when they come out of packaging and join the ensemble on the tree. There are certain ones that have the same place on the tree each year, generally. And then there are the new ones.
Mom got me a "The Emperor's New Groove" themed one this year, which is pretty great. We also have one from the Disney Cruise we went on in May, one that required me to get a photo to frame from the cruise. That one turned out nice. It'll take a little bit more to get the ornaments on the tree, but we'll share a picture of that when it is done.
On the treadmill, I've been marching along this virtual trail. While walking, I just finished "Planes Fire and Rescue," which was actually a good movie that I forgot so much about. I've just been watching these planes over our house in training - the pilots train over our lake area here. And so that reminded me of the "Planes" movies, so I got to revisit those two.
Our upcoming Christmas Suno song competition is coming up, and I have at least twelve new songs all written and done - we signed up for the more advanced accounts and these songs are certainly a lot of fun. We're going to have fun with this one. Maddie's got another song for this year too. Everyone is excited about their own songs - some really get stuck in your head!
So I've been sick for a few weeks now. These illnesses seem to last longer lately, what used to be a short period of time now drags on and on. Nevertheless, we press on. Tonight before bed, we started the book "Hogfather" again, for the third time. Mom was there to hear it too, which is fun. We just got started, and we know this one well - we'll probably even watch the movie soon enough. Afterwards, it was time for prayers, and hopefully a good night's rest.
