Pudding

Pudding!  The central portion is what Maddie painted the circle within there.  The outer portion is, of course, the photo that Maddie was replicating.   Pretty neat stuff.  This is one of the last bits of art she was working on in art class this year, one of the things she took home.  I scanned it earlier so it could be shared here.

Today was a busy day ack and forth between the hospital in Cumming to visit Nana and then to Oakwood to take Maddie to taekwondo, and then back again and then back again.  Nana is in the right place at the moment, although she's not dong well.  The news isn't good, just a slow and inevitable deterioration that we just have to take day to day.  Driving south of Lake Lanier, trying to follow route 20 is just stupid.  The road is a ridiculous traffic festival that goes on and on, and there's no sane reason why anyone would voluntarily want to drive that road during rush hour, or many other hours, that is unless they are big fans of sitting in traffic jams that go on and on and on.  That being said, we discovered that driving along Buford Dam Road was actually shorter by about 25 minutes - and we had the advantage of going over Buford Dam too, which we hadn't done in a while.

On the way back from taekwondo, Maddie had her small group online.  And we also took the car through the car wash too.  It was a busy day today - we were at the office cleaning out that prop room for a good bit.  It was very taxing on Mom.

We got a great thing in the mail though:  Spider-man coffee.  It's called Web Slinger, and it's a crispy marshmallow treat flavored coffee that we're pretty anxious to try.  According to the description:

Web Slinger gives you the power you need to swing into action and get your flavor senses tingling!

We're big fans of Bones Coffee flavors, so we ordered quite a bit in this last batch.  We've got some Frog's Breath today, but also more Ruff Weather, which has the character Zero from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" on the package.  It has an oatmeal cookie flavoring to it, and has been one of our favorites.  But Frog's Breath is our absolute favorite currently.  Maddie likes it cold as an iced coffee drink.  Mom and I drink it hot in the morning for special occasions.

Today we saw a woodpecker with it's fledgling nearby, one feeding the other.  There have been a lot of fledglings lately - we've seen nuthatches with their little ones nearby.  Also, there's a wren family that's living in the outdoor room we have, the one where we store the wood. Somehow they got in there and made a nest, and so we're checking in on them from time to time.

We closed out the day reading, and saying prayers too.  It was a decent day today, but Mom has sort of gotten sick, and of course Nana is in the hospital.  Hopefully things can improve.
