Looping Back

We've got a longer day tomorrow with taekwondo and so forth, so tonight we were able to squeeze in our now annual viewing of "Mrs. Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children," this as a part of the yearly celebration of Loop Day.  It's really a new season though, this despite the increase of temperatures of late. It's peculiarly hot outside, and that's not exactly fun.  But despite all this, it is technically September, and by gum, it's almost time for fall leaves, apples, pumpkins and so on.  To prove this, Mommy cut back the Black Eye Susans a bit at the front, and then hung up a fall wreath on the front door.  Baby steps - we'll be adding more decor soon enough, but currently this looks good enough.

As for the movie, Madison chose this one, and then later on this week we'll have a viewing of another Tim Burton classic, "Edward Scissorhands."  Madison has not seen this one yet, but I think she'll like it.  Mommy has been wanting to watch this one, and these two will sort of kick off our fall movie season, and yes, it's a little early. But that's okay.  

We had piano class tonight, so we made our way over to Gainesville for that.  Madison said it went well, and has a new song to work on now.  She's been practicing a little more this week, finding more time to practice here and there amongst all the other things she's now suddenly doing school work and more.  

On our way to and fro, we were having limited conversations in Spanish, this all part of her studies in school.  She's got another quiz, and she's working on her conversational skills, asking for names and dates and so on.  What's funny is that she occasionally has a Southern accent while saying things in Spanish.  Despite all her efforts to have a Southern accent, it's a work in progress while saying English things.  But in Spanish, that's another matter altogether!  It's pretty funny to hear that slip out.

Today we discussed a lot with KidPak meetings, and we're still doing Zoom meetings, but we're actually doing those here in the office as well.  Meaning, those here at the Gainesville campus are on their computers in separate rooms, despite the fact that we could easily be together for a meeting at the conference table.  

Here I am as a "redneck."  The reason for this would be the recent virus situation, again, where another employee has come down with it and everyone indoors is needing to wear a mask when nearby someone else.  Anyway, we're still moving forward, still getting things ready for a time we can be together.  It's getting closer!

Tonight we started with the "Wizard of Oz" from the year 1900.  It was later, so we didn't read much.  But it's already a little different, and of course we'll see even more differences as the story moves along.  Can't wait to read the part with Tin Man and the axe and the wolves.  The girls will be surprised at that part! 

We've been into the world of "Oz" of late, with my writings at least.  It's been somewhat of a series that's always intrigued me, and we may read more of it in the coming months.  But for now, it's good to start at the beginning with Dorothy and her new friends.  We still have a few books to read from Narnia as well, and another book with the Hand of Judgment coming soon in the mail.  I was hoping to have a few other things too, but we'll see as we move forward.  Just before bedtime is always great reading together.  I don't know how long it will last, but we're all enjoying it.

ANYWAY, it's time for bed.  We said our prayers, and soon after our reading, we were all off to sleep.  It was a nice day today.
