Attack of the Solar Bears

Madison ran into some friends tonight at the Daddy-Daughter Date Night, and she was all smiles.  We had a great night, an annual trip to Chick-Fil-A for a nice meal, and milkshakes too (which you can see below).  There's a musician playing keyboard, and all the staff are dressed up for a more formal occasion.  There are printed menus, and of course the guided questions you ask each other.  Would you rather be able to speak every language, or understand animals?  Would you rather be able to read minds, or fly?  What was the best day you've ever had, and why?  Those types of questions.  Madison enjoys asking these each year, and of course dressing up.  The thing we did again this year was hop in a limousine, and that's where Madison sat next to some of her friends.

We rode around for a bit, and you can see the girls are still sipping on their milkshakes.  We had a nice time, but soon afterwards, we were headed south for a Gwinnett Gladiators game!

It was fun.  The game itself was atrocious.  I mean, the Gwinnett Gladiators were frankly embarrassing, somewhat like the first game the Mighty Ducks played in that first movie.  The score was literally 0-6.  It was awful.  They couldn't pass, they couldn't stay out of the penalty box, and of course they couldn't score.  Still, it was Clark Howard night, which meant we didn't pay that much at all for club level seating.  And on top of that, we had all kinds of friends and family with us.

Here's Megan, who helps us out at KidPak.  In fact, she'll be on stage tomorrow morning (if we have service!).  She and her family found out about the discounted tickets from Daddy, so they decided to come too.  Not only did they come, but Nana, Ye-Ye, Aunt Shain and her whole family came as well!

We stayed for the entire game, and that was something Madison and Mommy were okay with as well.  The opposing team was the Orlando Solar Bears, which is a really great name for an ice hockey team.  Our seats were row A, so we were right there at center ice (the picture above was taken by Nana, who was one section to our right).  Here's a picture of Mommy and Madison before the game began.

Madison is wearing her Gladiators jersey from the last visit.  It was $5 jersey night again tonight, but we were okay.  Towards the end of this game, we were all collectively laughing at our team, just begging them to score at least one point.  But alas, some things were not to be.  Like I said, regardless of the score, we had a great time, and it was very inexpensive!

Anyway, the rest of the day was full too.  We had ballet production practice today, which was about an hour and a half, again.

The girls seem to have their routine down well enough, although there are still a few practices left to go.  We slept in this morning, so that was nice.  But there was also time for multiplying and dividing fractions.  We're focusing on that this weekend a bit more, plus the usual piano practice as well.  Once all that was done, there was time to play a little more Lara Croft, but not much.  You can tell we squeezed a lot of adventure into one day.

And speaking of which, we'll see what tomorrow holds for us.  Right now, there's a winter weather advisory for the morning, so we'll set the alarms tomorrow and see what's up when the time comes.  You never know around here!
