Tower of Terror

Again, Madison did not enjoy the Tower of Terror.  Of this fact, she will remind us time and again.  So it was with a little trepidation that she watched the movie based on the ride, a harmless flick that never showed up in the theaters, but we added to our collection just because it was Disney and had a spooky vibe.  Madison liked the movie, but still won't be going on that ride anytime soon.  But at least she was brave enough to try it for the first time, right?

Today we were going to be driving up northward to Gatlinburg and parts unknown, but we scratched that in favor of a day trip tomorrow.  It's okay - we'll all get enough rest tonight and tomorrow morning, and be well-rested for the weekend.

In the meantime, there was a little bit of piano to finish up, and a bit of work to finish up for Daddy too.  He's taking tomorrow completely off, so it was good to finalize a few things.

In that respect, he has to avoid pretzels.  Go figure, there's something to them.  Something that gives him an allergic reaction, perhaps.  This is truly a puzzlement!  Sharp and lasting migraines caused by some mystery ingredient.  We'll be taking a test soon enough, but until that time comes, we're trying to deduce the cause of these mystery symptoms.  And one by one, scratch various food items off the list.  It's as if Daddy is fasting.  Today, I had one of those uber dark chocolate bars with no dairy in it, and in big letters 70% on it.  Like it was 70% dark chocolate, so dark that you could still taste bits of bean in it.  Seriously, it was a bit bitter, but I could get used to it.  At least it's something.

So Mommy and Daddy apparently each have their allergies.  The point being, enjoy food while you can.  The good news is that your appetite does change over time.  To begin with, I couldn't imagine a world without cheeseburgers.  Now I'm a bit more indifferent.  A world without brussel sprouts though... that's a world anyone can live in!

It's about to get cold.  And it's about time for that too.  The temperature is dropping to the forties, and the sniffles are starting and the cold dry air blowing.  The ceiling fans are turning off, the firewood getting put out for sale, the heaters being turned on inside the cars.  There are extra blankets being put out, and the clothing is changing to something more tolerable.  Yes, fall is really here, and it's a most wonderful time.  This is the best time of the year - that's been said here before.  It's true!  Despite not doing as much as we usually do this October, it's still a fun time - and we're still going to do a lot.  Tomorrow should be fun...
