Pecos Bill

The rain was clearing out today, probably because of Pecos Bill.  See, this here cowboy has a lot of swing wherever he moseys.  When it comes to weather, that's no problem - don't forget that this guy once put a lasso around a tornado!

Today we returned to the theater for what is now our annual visit at the beginning of October.  We always get tickets for the performance that has an ice crea social afterwards.  Today was no different - we went to see "Pecos Bill" at Brenau, and then right afterwards we got to meet with all the characters, get their autographs, and pose for photos.  Daddy took the usual onslaught of photographs, and Madison got her ice cream with sprinkles on it too.  As for the performance, it was nice.  They're shorter, but filled with energy, a great set, and fun costuming.  This year's western performance had a bit more familiar costuming, as there were all cowboys on the set - and some coyotes too.  Sue came riding in on a catfish as well, which was pretty fun to see.  All in all, I reckon this here production was a ton of fun - and you can't beat that western atmosphere.  There were a couple fellas outside in the lobby playing harmonica, guitar and a fiddle - and these cowboys were at the side of the theater, providing the soundtrack for the performance as well.

We went home after that, of course.  It had been a long weekend - this morning, there were two services as always, and the three of us attended both.  Or, at least we served in both.  Daddy was a pirate again for a bit of time traveling to the 1600's.  Our drama continued, and all the while, Perry Stone was wrapping things up in the main sanctuary.  It was a pretty full service, despite all the rain pouring down in the morning.

That very rain has caused a lot of trouble in South Carolina, our neighbors to the east.  Lots of flooding going on there, flooding of historic proportions.  Here, finally the rain subsided, and we have nothing but a strong breeze left over.  Hopefully tomorrow we'll see some sun again.  It's been feeling like life on the Northwest coast here lately with all the rain.  Or London or something.

I reckon it's a good thing Pecos came by to whisk that weather away.  Goodbye, Joaquim.  We can't say we enjoyed your stay all that much.  And we can't say your name either, because nobody knows how to pronounce it.
