It was time for a little nap this afternoon, and fortunately Madison just got this little accessory for covering her eyes. It wasn't entirely necessary - for one thing we were all pretty zonked. But it was a funny moment seeing Mommy and Madison together with these over their eyes.
The day, as you can see, was pretty low-key. EXCEPT for the morning, of course, which was our opening service of the new series, "Under Construction." For those of you with good memories, yes, we did this series about two years ago. The set is different, and the cast is different, but the excitement for this series is the same: it was a great morning!
Today, we asked, "What's in your toolbox?" It was a great service about our resources, and about how God is building all of us up to be the persons He wants us to be. Madison and Mommy were on hand to see the new series, as Madison refuses to miss a single service now. How great to see and hear her storming down the hallway, telling us how she cannot under any circumstance miss KidPak Jr. So she was off and running, getting herself ready and taking a ride with Mommy to service.
It was a great day, but it was also a long night last night in preparation. So much so that Daddy was pretty wiped out. We all sprawled out on that bed in the first picture, and in just a few moments, we were out cold for a bit.
We woke up late, and in fact Madison still went to bed early - we've had some late nights recently, and tomorrow it is time to go back to school. After she went to bed, Daddy and Mommy watched a movie on Netflix, "Super 8," which was pretty good, actually. It's been around for a while, but we finally got around to watching it. It was a neat feeling watching a movie that had the same feeling as one of those Steven Spielberg movies from the 80's. In fact, this just might inspire a movie-marathon coming up, where we watch "Close Encounters" and a few more Spielberg movies too. I think we'll even watch "E.T." with Madison. We could make it an "80's Night," and play some classic Pac-Man or something. Daddy still has his Atari 2600, and quite a few old cartridges - after listening to some old 80's music, maybe we can have our theme night set!
But not tonight. We're still pretty zonked, and it's time to catch some Zzzzz's......
