Driving Home

College day!  Difference is, Maddie drove home today.  Yep, she got in that-there car and drove it home, sure enough.  She did a pretty decent job too, catching on to this whole "driving thing" pretty good.

Nice day today.  Cold one too, at least to start out with.  That was fairly unique.  I was out there raking leaves for a good bit, like it was fall or something.  But then complications ensued, and I needed to come in.  Oh well, got a few other things done too, like car appointments, tags dealt with, and eventually grocery shopping.  We were a bit behind on the shopping, so it was quite a visit to the grocery store today for me, and quite a list.  One thing I spotted while there:  Norwegian Crisp Bread.

I actually really this as a snack.  Maddie, however, thinks it looks like birdseed!

I was there while Maddie was in taekwondo - it was Maddie's longer night of practice with a few classes and an extended leadership class.  They've decided not to return to the Battle of Atlanta this year, and instead focus on a few other competitions that I believe are within the GTMA umbrella in different locations.  The Battle of Atlanta experience was fun, but everyone seems okay with moving on to other things too.

I got my walking in today, all while watching a video with Alan Shepherd's story in "From Earth to the Moon."  Only about three more of these videos left, and then moving on to another series.

Tonight we saw the Braves win again, this time with a new opponent in Washington.  We beat the Nationals 9-4 tonight, and the weather looked a lot colder up there.  Down here in Georgia, it's pretty chilly, almost fall like.

I have a phoebe friend, this bird that flies so close to me and lands right there within reach, just watching me rake.  It's looking for food that I might be stirring up, but it's great to have a little companion out there.  I have a new favorite bird.

Tonight we read more from our Discworld book, and then after that it was time for prayers - and a good night's sleep.  It's easy to sleep under all those blankets when it's chilly outside!
