Maddie was at the Braves game tonight, and it was a good one for the home team - the Braves crushed the Washington Nationals 11-5. That third inning was pretty epic. At the beginning of the third inning, there was a NFL game going on with the Lions versus the Ravens. Both of those football teams had gotten a touchdown before there was even the second out in this third inning here at the baseball game. Acuna batted a second time in that inning, and Maddie got to see some great offensive highlights from him and the other players. For example, right off the bat - so to speak - Acuna hit a home run right there at the bottom of the first inning. And for most of those innings, we scored at least at least one run. The third inning we added quite a few more. In the end, the Braves scored eleven, which was more than enough to win it. Maddie had a great time tonight, the whole college crew chanting out the names of people serving food up and down the aisles, heading over to the Batter to get something to eat, or shopping for souvenirs - Maddie's got her new Braves hat on her head there in that picture. And here's some other photos from her baseball adventure tonight!
The rest of our day was quiet by comparison. Maddie had her classes at college this morning, and I was busy getting a few things ready for this upcoming weekend at KidPak, not to mention the following month of October. I was also getting more steps in along the Scooby Trail, and I'm almost done with my first virtual challenge there. I got perhaps the last post card from Mystery Incorporated, this one revealing the end of the story where Velma explains who did it and of course why. I'm not going to spoil that here, but now that the adventure is wrapping up, I get to watch the original episode!
We got our car back today, fully repaired with the AC, which cost roughly the amount of a cruise to fix. Cars are gutting more and more expensive.
First day of fall today! The weather is a little warm out there, but the mornings and evenings are cool. Maddie was comfortable at the game, and as much as the first day of fall is a big celebration of sorts, we've really been celebrating fall for a few weeks now, this despite the warmer weather of late. There's so much fun stuff to do in fall that you just got to celebrate it early!
Tonight was a quick night after the game. We still made time to read a bit, and we said our prayers. And we were super tired of course, so off to sleep we went!
