Okay, this might not be the "slamming" that is supposed to take place in basketball! You can see Daniel, our eagle-eyed ref there about to make a call that perhaps the audience missed. It was a fun skit, because at first you don't see the foul take place - just two players going by each other and what looks like a clean steal. But once we rewind things and take a closer and closer look, here's where it arrives at above. It gets progressively more and more ridiculous until it gets to this pint, where in slow motion all these players come out of nowhere with pool noodles, hitting the fouled player in slow motion and getting his basketball.
It was a fun morning, and another great morning at KidPak with our "Slam Dunk" series. We had all kinds of games, great illustrations and a solid message this morning about Moses trying to keep all those Israelites following God's rules and keeping them "in bounds." Maddie took a lot of great pictures as usual. It was a fun morning!
We picked up some food from Wang's after that, some Chinese food to take home and eat before relaxing much of the rest of the day. There was some work to be done - Maddie and I assembled a cross bar for Mom's trampoline so she can grip that for balance. Maddie and I did some pirating after that, battling the Kraken and trying to amass a small fortune in LEGO currency. We're not quite there yet, but getting close!
I was on the treadmill for a good bit, and I'm almost done with twenty hours of videos from Perry Stone studying Revelation, first the 8-hour VHS set, and here I am on DVD #7 of the second set. It's been a really deep study, particularly because I'm also reading his study Bible as well, right there in Revelation. I'll be ready to watch something mindless after this!
For our viewing tonight, we watched "Journey 2 the Mysterious Island," which is a continuation of at least one character from "Journey to the Center of the Earth," which we watched yesterday. We've seen this one before, but it's amazing how much you forget, all of us. We enjoyed the movie, and suddenly here we are wanting to watch more Vernian movies. I have about three versions of "Around the World in 80 Days" ready to go, plus the old school "Mysterious Island" that we watched recently. And why not watch "Atlantis" again - that follows the theme too, right?
Anyway, it was time for bed early tonight. We got up early, or at least it seemed like it with Daylight Savings Time. Spring forward is the toughest time to adjust to, losing that hour. We went to bed an hour earlier last night, and tonight we were ready to get to bed early too.
My stomach pains continue. I'm thinking it's an intolerance, but at least the blood pressure went down a little bit. The good news is that I was able to sleep tonight. Mom set up a bath with special salts, and there are special teas and drinks - she's been taking good care of me.
We read tonight from "Maskerade," and DEATH has made his first appearance, tricking a swan somewhere on a lake to sing its last song before taking him away. I think that character will show up later in the book for certain, given that this is a "Phantom of the Opera" theme. We read about the phantom a bit tonight, and about the characters on their way to the theater even now by carriage. It's all setting up, and we'll see what happens next.
Tonight we said our prayers, and the Plush Entourage was there with us for reading, for prayers, and then carried down the hall to get tucked in for a good night's rest.
