Please Come Get Me

This morning was early - we were up and over to East Forsyth High School so that Maddie could take the SAT test.  Fortunately, it's roughly five minutes from here.  We dropped her off, and got a few things done this morning - walking on the treadmill amongst a whole lot of other chores.  She sent this text when she was ready to go...

And she was really ready to go!  I think the next text would have read something like, "Get me out of here!"  Again, we're right there nearby, so I was able to get there fairly quickly.  She felt like she didn't do too bad.  There was no pressure, and after a series of recent AP tests, she felt this test wasn't quite as harsh.  There were certainly things she was not sure how to answer.  But she did know a lot of others, so she didn't feel that bad about it.  It's just tedious and she was ready to get out of there.

It just so happens that there was enough time to do at least an hour of Team Edge practice, so we raced over to Oakwood after that.  Maddie was right away working with the sword and doing routines with everyone for the hour they were together.  Afterwards, it was time for cupcakes, as it was a student's birthday. And after that, just because Maddie did the SAT test, I thought why not go get some boba tea.  Maddie and I got a boba tea soon afterwards, which was nice.

Except, perhaps, the kind of tea I got - might be messing with my digestive system.  I have no idea what's going on, but the blood pressure goes up and there's the stomach issues... all over again.  I thought things healed up and we were moving on, but here we go again.  It was a somewhat distressing weekend for me, but things started to calm down late Sunday.

To help with all that, Maddie and I were playing LEGO Pirates again today for a bit, and also we continued our Vernian adventure tonight with the most recent "Journey to the Center of the Earth" movie from 2008.  The good version.  I think that year there were three movies with that title, the other two riding the coattails of the good movie.  This one was a lot of fun too, and really different from the 1959 version, but still lots of adventure and smiles along the way.  We enjoyed seeing this one again so much that of course tomorrow we're going to Mysterious Island.  Right?  And after that, the Vernian adventures may continue - who knows?  I'm always up for "Around the World in 80 Days."  As mentioned before, it's' been my favorite book for some time.

Speaking of books, tonight we read from our current novel, "Maskerade," getting a little further in.  But we got to sleep quickly after prayers.  Tonight we spring forward with the clocks, and nobody likes that!
