Ah! Peppermint Cornhole! This seems like an obvious sort of game to play this time of year, and it seems like the piano is a perfect place to be playing it. Maddie has been taking all these pictures of Jingle and Snowflake - and posting them too. She's been carefully documenting Jingle's surprises each morning, and of course still opening her other advent calendars. We've got quite a Marvel collection of winter-themed characters, which you'll see soon enough when the collection is complete. And of course there are the different LEGO Star Wars creations too, plus the hot sauces. Each day Maddie gets a new hot sauce - we'll probably have a French fry plate set up some time after Christmas, and one by one Maddie and I have an appointment with hot sauce destiny. We'll try as many of each one, sampling the different hot sauces. Should be fun!
Today's big activity was the demo practice that Maddie went to. She spent the morning training with her friends and the team, getting ready for the big performance that's upcoming. Some of us weren't feeling 100%, so the idea of going to the Gainesville First Baptist church this year to see their Living Christmas Tree just didn't seem like a great idea. But Mom found out about them live streaming the performance, and that made for a great alternative. We got to see the entire thing in really good quality on the television this weekend, and that will do nicely for this year.
We've been watching a lot of Christmas movies, and we're actually doing pretty well, keeping up with all of those. We're not getting that many Christmas cards at all this year, as that number has been dwindling significantly year after year. People just don't mail things as much, and then there is the matter of the economy. We still send out about fifty or so, but the cards we get back have been getting smaller in quantity each year.
The other thing we've been doing is listening to all our Christmas music - it's so much. But we have all these new vinyl records for the Christmas season, and on top of that plenty of other Christmas music I've picked up along the way this year. We got one in the mail just recently, as I broke down and ordered a copy of it, and I've been glad I did. It's nice having this Christmas music playing in the background.
We've been doing a lot of set-up work for KidPak - tomorrow is a return to Narnia, and beyond that our Christmas Production looms. We've got a lot going on, and tonight we tried to get to sleep earlier. We read, and we're actually wrapping up Hogfather, so we'll probably move on to another Terry Pratchett book, as Maddie is into the Discworld at the moment. It's a fun place to want to stay!
We said our prayers, and after that headed off to sleep. Or, at least tried to. I didn't sleep again.
Maddie’s pov:
So today I had demo team practice. It’s the last one before Edgestravaganza. We were going through the routine as many times as we could. This also included us getting distracted a few times lol. At one point during practice, it started as a tricking line practice for those who have some sort of trick to do during the thing, so Mia, Kaylee, Logan, Manny, and I were practicing other stuff like our Bo staff routine. Then we started to kinda do whatever as the others started doing whatever and it came to a 20 minute break. It was kinda funny honestly lol. Around 11:53, we took a small 2-3 minute break that had at some point near the beginning was a touch up thing. Then we ended up getting distracted again. Most of the guys were playing sticks, I started playing rock paper scissors with Logan and then started watching Chris and Lucas play sticks. It was funny that we ended up doing this. I did a round of sticks with Kaylee, then we actually did one last run through of the demo routine.
