Cars 2

In honor of seeing "Cars 2," we went to the visit the Georgia Department of Transportation site to vote for a new license plate. There were about eight or ten options, and we let Madison choose which one she thought would be best. The one above is the one she clearly chose - with no hesitation. Even after highlighting the others and seeing the different options, she kept coming back to this one and saying, "That one!"

So that's what we've chosen. I think we find out in July which license plate will be officially chosen. The funny thing is the reason why Madison picked this one. It isn't because "In God We Trust," although Mommy and Daddy like that on the plate. It isn't because of the bold lettering that makes it easy to read. It's because it looks like Halloween! Yes, to her those aren't peaches, but large pumpkins. And I suppose the flowers are faint enough that you can't see them, but rather empty branches because it is close to winter.

I'm sure that's not what the artist intended. At least I
don't really think that was it!
Tonight, we went to see "Cars 2" at the theater, and Madison is a professional movie-goer. Tonight's crowd was the biggest we've seen in a while - a convoy of kids running into the theater. It made for a fun time. It was a good movie, though Mommy and Daddy liked the first one better. Madison had this huge tub of popcorn in her lap, and Mommy smuggled in Twizzlers and Good N Plentys. It's neat to see an exciting children's movie like this in a theater filled with kids. Lots of energy! Some critics were complaining that it was a confusing movie, or that there was too much of Mater in it. I'm no intellectual giant, but I didn't have a hard time following it, and Madison loves Mater. I wouldn't say it is Pixar's best movie, but I won't be trashing it in any way either: Our family had a great time enjoying a good flick!
