Surprise Venom

We sent this to one of our friends this afternoon, as he's been involved in some filming for an upcoming movie.  The picture sort of gives away what movie it is.  He was completely surprised by the entire experience, and was sharing with us a lot of details, although there were other things he could not share, as he signed all kinds of agreements in that regard.  But it is yet another superhero movie filmed in Georgia, which is apparently the new Hollywood.  Or, it is as long as we bow down to the filmmakers' demands.  Money talks, or to quote Lord Cutler Beckett:  "I'm afraid currency is the currency of the realm."  For a season, a lot of movies and productions are being made and filmed here, and there are a lot of opportunities for our friends who are interested in that sort of thing.  But there's a great deal of power these people carry, isn't there?  We're learning that in this season as well, of course, with a great many people finally being held accountable in that business, finally being judged for plenty of past misdeeds.  Without going into specifics, it is not an exaggeration to hear daily for the past few months about various celebrities or Senators who have engaged in bad behavior in the past.  Sins are catching up, and it the rate of people falling lately has been astonishing.  We've had producers, directors, news anchors, actors and a Senator - and that's just the last two weeks.  It's open season on the guilty, and while there isn't any glee found in seeing people fall, there is a level of hope that things could possibly change for the better.

Today was the final skit for Get a Clue's story.  We have one more weekend of the series, but we wrapped up our story on stage today, before the Thanksgiving weekend next weekend.  It went out with a bang, a great finish to a remarkable series.  This has been so much fun, and of course Madison was with the other Irregulars on stage, along with the full cast.  I think we had about thirteen people in this series, so it was a pretty healthy crowd on stage.  Blocking was a bit of a chore for this one!

Regardless, it turned out rather well, and hopefully put a great spin on Sherlock Holmes and the whole mystery genre in general.  I know that Madison is really into mysteries at present.  She can't get enough of Nancy Drew, for example.  Today we finished the Thanksgiving adventure, and tomorrow we've got to go to the library to get the next adventure.  She can't wait to hear what happens next!

Madison's drawings are becoming more and more prolific.  We'll have to share some with you here, including images of angels and reindeer and pretty much anything she can attempt to copy.  Her skills are rapidly increasing, as she's spending a lot of her spare time doing drawings of just about anything from Star Wars characters to real life images she finds on book covers.  We're considering putting some of her artwork on our Christmas card this year - that would be fun!

This afternoon, we had back-to-back Christmas movies, with "A Christmas Carol" and "The Santa Clause 3."  Daddy had plans to put lights on the tree, but strangely, not one of the lights in this bag were working.  It was about six strands of lights, too.  We'll have to get some more when we go out tomorrow.  The plan was to head out tonight, but we just decided to camp out under the blankets on the couch, and have a snuggle fest while watching Christmas movies.  Mission accomplished in that regard!

We had spaghetti today, always a treat, and tonight we went to bed a little bit later.  The weather is getting colder, so we were doing two layers of socks this morning.  Something about those feet - they just take longer to warm up!

Anyway, it was a good day at the house, made even better with the knowledge that we don't have to set the alarm for tomorrow - no school!
