I was doing a few chores along the way, some stops at the bank, and then a stop at a thrift store where I picked up a few more vinyl records because they're just a dollar. I got some fun ones!
Maddie, Nate and I had some lunch together after that, going over to Chick-Fil-A for a meal, and then after that she and Nate spent the day over at his house. We didn't see them until later on that night, but she had a good day. Mom and I were meanwhile doing some work around the house, including repainting the back deck a bit, and packing for our upcoming trip somewhat. Also a tiny bit of work towards KidPak tomorrow.
Tonight's movie was "Something Wicked This Way Comes," which I have on DVD still, and it just recently popped up on Disney Plus as well, and some folks are talking about that one. It got us remembering how spooky the vibe is with this one, a perfect little fall movie. We might even go back and read the book or something, but for now, the movie was a fun thing to watch tonight. The Autumn People are coming, and that's not a good thing. Moo-ah-ah-ah!
Okay, time for bed. We read tonight from the Discworld, continuing with "Jingo," and moving forward towards war between Ankh-Morpork and Klatch. But meanwhile, in a very similar world, there is a peace treaty between two enemies in the Middle East. Whenever Israel is mentioned with either war or peace, everyone's ears perk up, and we all try to see where this fits within any apocalyptic time line. Regardless of our skepticism (based on experience) about how long this will last, one thing is clear: hostages are coming home after a few years now, and that is a good thing. Twenty of them are still alive. It's going to be difficult moving forward, but our President has had a hand in pushing this forward.
After reading tonight, we said our prayers. We're getting closer to a nice little fall getaway, and that will be a blessing.
