Ready or not, here she comes! Maddie started 10th grade today as a sophomore, and she was looking quite fashionable here as well. She selects her clothing choices ahead of time, so she had this one figured out earlier for the first day, which went really well, according to her. Maddie's really looking forward to her Early Childhood Development class, but she's also enjoying other classes so far. A lot of the classes have featured get-to-know you activities and so on, which is standard for the first day. No one is stressing out quite yet! But here we go again, and it's amazing that we're here so quickly.
Today was funny on the KidPak side of things - we have a very big warehouse down in Braselton, and we had this game of hide-and-seek there with the lights completely turned out, and on top of that there were decoy hiders, people who would jump out and scream at you if you got too close. It had to be terrifying and/or exhilarating for the seekers. I was a hider today, a nice little break from all the writing and graphic creating.
Tonight we were grilling burgers and hot dogs on the back deck. Mom had everything all made up for a nice summer meal together. No taekwondo tonight because of testing for the younger class, so we enjoyed some time together eating, and then after that Maddie had her small group with Camille and the other girls. Camille is getting married this Sunday, which is just as surreal as me thinking about Maddie in tenth grade. Wow, it all happens so fast!
Anyway, we read tonight as always, and the Mysterious Benedict Society is in deep trouble, captured by the Ten Men. We'll have to press on to see what happens next. Until then, it was an earlier night tonight. We said our prayers, and were off to sleep as from this point on, we have to make that bedtime a little more reasonable due to us all getting up earlier in the morning again. We said our prayers, and were off to sleep fairly quickly.
