Taiga

Madison was doing a project on a biome, and she's chosen the "taiga" biome, which is one of the less obvious ones you can select for a project.  In case you have no idea what a taiga is, here's a quick definition:

Taiga, generally referred to in North America as boreal forest or snow forest, is a biome characterized by coniferous forests consisting mostly of pines, spruces, and larches. The taiga or boreal forest has been called the world's largest land biome.

So, here's my confession.  I've never heard of a taiga before.  I couldn't even pronounce it at this point.  But now I know - these are found all over the world.  Or, you can go to the planet Illum if you want:

Yeah, there are all kinds of biomes in Star Wars.  Anyway, she was doing that for a bit today - and she was also playing the piano in the lobby at the school.  A teacher called her out on it, and Maddie thought she was in trouble at first, until the teacher complimented her playing.  She told me this story, then Mom... it was a funny moment.

The great gas shortage is ongoing, as is the trouble in Israel, as are a whole lot of other issues right now in our country.  I stopped paying super close attention, as it certainly wasn't good for the blood pressure.  But a lack of gas was somewhat of an issue.  Fortunately, we're sitting on a full tank still, and we're okay.  We have two cars, so we're just fine.

Tonight we were still working on season 2, but Madison was also working on her projects as well, but Henry County and taigas of course.  And a tiny bit of studying for her math Milestones.  It was pushed to to later, but Madison is pretty chill about that.  She's as chill as a taiga, in fact.

We had a good day today, a relaxed day.  We read tonight, of course.  And we said our prayers before quickly getting some rest.  This medication makes me sleepy at night!
