Spirograph

This is Madison's first attempt at a Spirograph.  We got better as the attempts went on, but for Christmas we got this Spirograph, and it was something fun to try out.  Madison pulled out all the markers and provided paper, and tried it out for quite a few spins.  We got some pretty complicated patterns made, and it was a pleasant little diversion, rather than sitting in front of the television set all day.

Which we almost did.  It was for research, but we had ourselves a "Star Wars Rebels" Marathon today, and having never seen the show before, the three of us watched episode after episode.  No, we didn't see all of them.  The rest will have to wait for this week, but overall it is a decent show.  Mommy and Daddy prefer the "Clone Wars" show at the moment, but this one, like Han Solo, "has its moments."  It has cemented Madison's like of the character Sabine, although her favorite character is currently Ezra.

So while this was going on, we faced the inevitable.  The DeSantafication Process has begun!  That's right, slowly but surely we took the ornaments off of the tree today.  We did this while watching the television set.  As it takes about a week to set all this up, you can imagine it was going to take us a while to take it all down, and pack it away.  In fact, we've got a ways to go until finished.  We'll keep at it during the week.

Tonight we had an early bedtime.  This was due to the fact that SCHOOL is back tomorrow.  We did read a few chapters in Madison's Jack Sparrow book, and it seems that each night ends in a big cliffhanger.  This elicits groans from Madison and Mommy, who are sitting there anxiously listening to each word.  Daddy is attempting all the voices along the way, from Jack to Tia Dalma to Davy Jones.  It's a fun reading time!

Oh, and as a bonus, Madison got a Jack Sparrow power disc for doing all her piano work.  She's ready for school, ready for piano, and I think we're all ready to face another year.  Goodnight!
