Daddy didn't get to see much of Madison today, but when he spoke to her over the computer, she was very proud to share some good news: she's been selected for another High Flyer Award. This is something she received last year, and we'll be there to see her get it again in a week's time. She was pretty happy about this one, which was given to her for achieving in the category of RESPECT.
You know you're singing that Aretha Franklin song now, aren't you?
Anyway, today was a big day for Madison, who once again took everyone to court: the tennis court, that is. This is each Wednesday after school. Mommy keeps her busy, doesn't she?
Mommy keeps busy herself, getting things ready for our new series, and getting the front of the house all ready for the new season. The fall leaves are out on the mantle inside, and the pumpkins are outside as well. We have new mulch down, and the air is crisp and cool at night, hitting the upper fifties.
We've started our Halloween movie marathon with a movie "Girl Vs. Monster" that was on the Disney Channel. This was just for Mommy and Daddy, believe it or not. We were sampling it to see if it would be okay for Madison. The movie was decent, as far as made-for-tv Disney movies go (although they do make some great ones). But we're not sure if she'll watch the whole thing or not. Besides, there are a lot of new seasonal movies to show her this year, from Scooby Doo to maybe a few others.
We just got our Navigators for the Disney Cruise "Halloween on the High Seas" event, so that'll be fun to go through, planning out our stay on the Disney Dream. Lots of stuff going on this month! We have the Georgia National Fair to go to first - that's next weekend. This weekend is sort of full: we'll be setting things up for our new series here. Already the stage is being worked on, the dinosaur gone and some sort of video game landscape being constructed. Meanwhile, we're planning scripts, videos and lots of 8-bit music.
Daddy said goodnight to Madison over Skype tonight, and as always sneaked in for a kiss goodnight, long after she went to sleep. It was a great night tonight at church, but she's got to get up rather early each morning for school and we want her to be well-rested for each full day. Madison got a prayer journal last Wednesday - even though she wasn't here. Daddy brought it home for her, and she's already filled out a few pages, writing out people to pray for and things to be thankful for.
As Daddy gives our sleeping daughter a kiss on the forehead, he's overwhelmed with gratitude and thanks each night. We are so incredibly blessed with our little high flyer!
