This morning was a lot of last-minute clean-up before the big trip south. Even at the office, Daddy was a little bit focused elsewhere, as evidenced by these decorations he's made for our cabin doors on the cruise ship:
Daddy made these for all the family, and later on, Mommy applied magnetic strips to the backs of each one. They even make ones that fit perfectly over your cabin number, so we made one for ours that is a pirate hat (complete with Mickey ears) and one that is a birthday hat (for Nana, complete with Mickey ears).
So Madison got home early - it was an early release day. Daddy made all the arrangements for tonight's service (they're talking about Mario Kart!). He also set things up enough for Sunday too - that'll be the day we're driving back.
The car was packed quickly, thanks to Mommy's efforts this morning. We forgot nothing this time, mainly because we were constantly asking the question, "What are we forgetting?"
Nothing. We forgot nothing for once! This trip was easy to Florida - we made it without any trouble, and a lot of this may be due to the timing of our exit. We left around 1:30 or so, and therefore missed a lot of traffic in Atlanta, and parts further south. Daddy had no problems staying focused and awake, and God blessed our travels down, down, down. In fact, at one point we were noting the bugs and what-not on the windshield, and Daddy was regretting not using the cleaning stuff at the last gas station stop. When suddenly in Gainesville, Florida, there arose a pretty heavy rain shower. It was over very quickly, and by the time it had passed as we were driving, the windshield was perfectly clean again!
We arrived early evening, and there was much rejoicing. Hugs all around, and talks of a long drive. Daddy was a bit tired - in fact we all were. So we went to bed early, excited and ready for the big day tomorrow.
