Before Gotcha Day, Zena and I had only a collection of photos of Madison to gaze at, wondering what our daughter would be like.
Some were taken and sent to us on Referral Day. Others were collected along the way soon after, sent to us by other parents with waiting children in the same orphanage. Some were of Madison's second birthday party, when Zena and I had sent along a cake - and a camera to capture the moment.
For about three minutes, you too can see the photographs taken of our daughter...before we met.
Love your website, very well done DAVID and ZENA! alot of love and talent went into this. Joanne said it was adorable. The slide presentation was really well done. Hope you enjoy George and Anne next week. Glad you are all well.

I know that this is a very old post, but thought that maybe you would get this message. Our daughter was also in the Cangwu SWI. We adopted her 7/09 when she was 2.8 years old. She was brought to the SWI in 4/08, so they were probably there at the same time. Unfortunately, I'm at work so can't view the slide show. I'm anxious to look at it and see if our daughters knew each other!!

My blog is adoptingdiana.blogspot.com.
I'd love to connect!
Hello!
DeleteWe just read your letter this morning, and we really enjoyed reading about your adoption journey! We're David and Zena Cypher, and our daughter is Madison (which should be fairly obvious from this blog!). She was at Cangwu SWI for a little over a year, ending in June of 2008, on Gotcha Day (in Nanning). We'd love to connect as well - my wife Zena is on Facebook if you'd like to get in touch that way. Our daughters certainly had some time together at the orphanage - they're both roughly the same age. Here's a better quality version of the slide show, by the way (we've since posted it on Youtube): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgaYa5fs5us. Also, here is a VERY brief slideshow of our trip to China: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuTiS5fN4Xk. You'll recognize a lot of the scenery!
It was a true pleasure getting your comments this morning, and we look forward to hearing more about your beautiful family. You can contact us through Facebook, or merely reply here.
Have a great day!

Now that I'm home, I think that I recognize my daughter. It is somewhat hard to tell, but I think she is the one on the frame 1:14, the one in pink sitting in the back. It also looks as though they are together in a number of different photos. I will absolutely send your wife a facebook request! How cool! I was just wasting some time at work and came across your blog. I will look through some of our early pictures and see if I can see any of your daughter. I think, however, that most of our pictures are from a bit later as we didn't get her until 7/09.

What an amazing find if these are pictures of your daughter! We've got a busy weekend here, but next week, I'm certain I can find the original pictures on a disc. We'll share them with you so you can add them to your collection. Obviously, if you see anything with Madison in your photos, that would be incredible - but as you said, your pictures are from a little later. Are you familiar with any of the other children in the pictures? We know two of them - June and Hannah are their names. Also, I'm not sure if you know it or not, but there is a Yahoo group made up of parents with children from the Cangwu SWI.
DeleteIt's great to hear from you - forgive the lack of an immediate reply, as we're pretty busy the next few days. Speaking of which, have a great weekend!
