Before the actual ceremonies, we were watching some of the Olympic Events tonight, particularly the team figure skating event. You can see the Chinese couple above. They did well, although the young lady had a bit of a stumble early on. All of the skating couples did well, but the men's single event was quite uneven. I think if you didn't fall once, that guaranteed you a spot in the top three. It's all a question of balance, of course. Something we may not be as good at on the ice, but we've been balancing the schedule today for sure.
We've been doing quite a bit of driving back and forth today. Madison's teacher had a meeting with Mommy tonight, which was taking place during jazz and ballet. It was quite a balance act, appropriate enough given the soundtrack Madison has been listening to over and over again. The song is "Tightrope." She's enjoying "The Greatest Showman" soundtrack, as are all of us, the official soundtrack of Winter 2017-2018. Without a "Moana" or "Trolls" or "Frozen," we were without any new music. But all the kids and grown-up kids are singing "The Greatest Showman" to the point of excess.
It was quite a bit of practice tonight for Madison, and in fact she was dancing to "Tightrope" at ballet. That was her suggestion, so she and the jazz team were choreographing their own routines. If I only had a camera for that one. You'll just have to use your imagination. Meanwhile, Daddy was racing to drop Mommy off, and then pick up Madison, and then back to pick Mommy up again. Let's just say he was uber awesome tonight.
We had a great day otherwise, getting work done at the office, and at home too. Mommy is shopping for new mattresses for us, as well as all the other usual things she has to tackle around the house. Lightbulbs going out, mattresses, and also phone problems too. Everything simultaneously wanting to take a break - it can add a tiny bit of stress to an already cluttered schedule. But we're planning a quick retreat soon enough, and that will help like a good dose of relaxing medication. Whatever that tastes like.
Also in the plus column, we're healthy. We know of many others still out sick today, still recovering. It takes a while.
We did some tomb raiding tonight, and then a bit of reading in China, and then some reading on the mountain devotional for "Elevate." This series is flying by rather quickly, but it's been fun!
