Levitating Pencil Holder

The day after Summer Xtreme 2016 was a quiet one, with all of us sleeping late.  Madison is still feeling feverish, with all kinds of drainage as well.  She's not as miserable as she's been lately, but she's getting better.  Evidence of this is in her activities today, although there was some pretty heavy video game playing with the latest LEGO Avengers game.

Daddy got home from work to join her, and one of the first things we did after a quick meal was this:  build a levitating pencil holder.

Mommy signed up for a service called Tinker Crate, where these creative and educational projects arrive monthly for us to try out.  This month's project was a levitating pencil holder, a simple project using strategically placed magnets.  We got it together successfully, and learned a bit along the way.  Daddy actually learned a thing or two as well.

After dinner, we were back to the Avengers, and after that a bit more of our superheroes theme with "Big Hero 6."  Madison was so emotional during the ending sequences.  Fortunately, if you've seen the movie, you know how it ends, and that all is well with the team.  But for a moment, we looked over at Madison between us, and she was profoundly affected.

Tonight we're going to bed early.  Everyone is tired, but it was still a very good day.  It will just take a bit to recover from two straight weeks of Summer Xtreme.  G'night!
