Hyakuretsu Kyaku

Today we had a knock-down drag out fight with Street Fighter II. The stand-up arcade cabinet is downstairs in the basement, so it's been somewhat hidden since the move - but the last two days have been fun because Madison and Daddy have been playing old school Street Fighter II. Of course, she's Chun Li. One of the more fun things is watching Madison imitate Chun Li after each match. Depending on the victory pose, Madison will either fold her arms in a meditative stance, or jump up and down celebrating. Tonight, one of the other happened a lot, obviously. Daddy played each character against Madison, who delighted in beating the fire out of each one, or throwing each one, or doing the Hyakuretsu Kyaku, more commonly known as the lightning kick. We finished just in time for dinner - Daddy took over to knock out the final character, M Bison, rather quickly.

It was back to work for Daddy this afternoon, but a lot was accomplished. We're just moving along quickly towards summer, aren't we? Today didn't seem like it though, as temperatures plunged almost twenty degrees colder. It was an incredibly loud and eventful night in the heavens, as loud storms and massive winds swept through the area with frightening speed and power.

Fortunately, we were blessed and safe in our neighborhood. Also, fortunately, Madison was asleep for all of it.

Mommy has been teaching Madison some basic math as of late, by using Madison's toy cookies. Literally taking away cookies, she's teaching Madison what twelve minus three is, or any other increment. Madison counts the remaining cookies and has her answer. It's a simple process, but a great introduction to basic math skills. Already, she's showing more promise with math than her Daddy!

"Well you stopped moving. I guess that means you're done fighting." - Chun Li
