National Pineapple Upside Down Cake Day

Today at about 4:00, Mommy called me and shared with me something very important: today is National Pineapple Upside Down Cake Day. What news! I had to race home as soon as I could so Mommy could go out and get some grocery shopping done - we were going to have some delicious pineapple upside down cake tonight! Yummy!

Of course, at our house, we can never just have the cake and eat it too. Daddy just so happened to be wearing his Hawaiian pineapple shirt, and he came home and plugged in an Annette Funicello CD (that includes the song "Pineapple Princess"), while Mommy started preparing the cake. Madison put on her grass skirt and her flower leis, and even put one on Daddy too - she was ready for a luau. In fact, she started waving her pom-poms about as the music played - and as Mommy brought over the pineapple upside down cake!

Madison said the word "pineapple," and smiled, pointing at the large one Mommy brought home from the grocery store. The cake was the greatest I've ever tasted. It was undoubtably Mommy's finest hour when it comes to pineapple upside down cake. It was so delicious! In fact, we brought some over to Ye-Ye and Nana to share. Oh yes, National Pineapple Upside Down Cake Day is something you should share with others! Can't you feel the love?
